Murukku/Chakli Preparation: using rice & basen powder


Murukku is one of the famous south Indian snacks item. The method of preparation which I going to share with you all is very easy.






Recipe :






Rice flour - 1 cup
Basen flour - 0.5 cup
Chilli powder - to taste
Ajwain - 1 table spoon
Jeera - table spoon
Ghee( heated ) - 2 spoons
Salt - to taste
Water ( boiling/hot)
Oil - for frying









Method of preparation:




1.Take a bowl
2.Add rice powder.
3.To it add basen flour.
4.Add chilli powder , ajwain , jeera, ghee and salt.
5.Add water ( hot) and mix well.
6.Keep the dough aside for 30 minutes.
7.Pour oil required for frying in the frying pan.
8.Let the oil get heated up.
9.Just put a pinch of the dough into the heated oil and see if it gets immediately floated up . If so , then start frying .
10.Use murukku mould and drop the pressed murukku from a ladle.
11.Fry both sides till the bubbles cease.
